Katznelson, Berl

(1887-1944)
   Palestinian labour leader. He was born in Belorussia and emigrated to Palestine in 1909. He became an ideologist of the labour movement. He was one of the founders of the Ah dut ha-Avodah party in 1919, and of the Histradrut in 1920. He served in various positions in the Zionist Organization and edited various labour journals, including the Histadrut daily Davar. He was a founder of Mapai in 1930.
